Internet Timeline - Milestones in the Internet history journey
The internet timeline, or the internet history, goes back to the 60’s when J.C.R Licklider and Welden Clark published the paper “On-Line Man-Computer Communication”, which set the first building blocks of inter-networking.
In this article we go back to the beginnings of the data communication and explore the internet timeline from the beginnings till our days with an outlook on the future.
Have you ever wondered why all tech giants like google and facebook are based in California? If you take a look on the below map you’ll know why, it all started there.

- DNS was born 1984
Paul Mockapetris and Jon Postel introduced DNS with the familiar suffixes of .com .org .edu .net .gov and others. This was a great contribution to the Internet, without it we would be browsing facebook by typing https://31.13.75.36, not cool.
